ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church, “PEPC”, is a midsized community located in Parker, CO. By holding fast to the core values of being biblically anchored, relationally oriented, intergenerationally comprised, and missionally focused, we exist to help others who are spiritually hungry turn from their sin, become like Christ, and share God’s transforming Word with the world.

At PEPC we believe that the reason each of us were created and called into relationship with our good and gracious God is to offer our lives back to Him in worship; we believe He is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him. As such, our times of gathered worship, discipleship, and activity with students, plays a pivotal role in their connection to God, and community.

PEPC is committed to reaching the lost and least resourced as well as serving and discipling students in our community.

SUMMARY

The Student Ministry Pastor is responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing weekly ministry where students experience the love of Jesus, are excited about the community of PEPC, and develop a desire for relevance of faith in their lives. He will be the primary face of student ministry, outreach particularly with male students and together with a ministry partner in discipleship and female connections, will design a dynamic ministry to reach the students of Parker, CO. He will design and deliver weekly programing as the primary face of large groups and grow the ministry through connections in the schools and community. He will create a desire for students to flow from large groups to engage and grow in small group discipleship. PEPC invests in weekly contact work by reaching out to the individual students where they are and inviting students into further relationship with Christ. This position requires someone that is excited about connecting with students in the schools and engaging in highly relational ministry. The right person will be energetic and relational; outgoing and bold.

PEPC is launching a new Student Ministry Center (gymnasium) that is nearing completion. Student Ministry Pastors will be key in the design of ministry through this facility as we reach out to local students in high energy activity and connections. PEPC is looking for a dynamic, strong, fun leader to pastor this ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Align Leaders – Align leaders to work together to implement PEPC’s vision, values and strategy:

Together with ministry partner:

  • Champion vision and values of PEPC throughout Student Ministry with students and families;
  • Recruit and train collaborative key leaders in Student Ministry;
  • Manage budget and resources needed to make Student Ministry successful.

Refine the Message – Design a messaging strategy that communicates biblical truths to students:

  • Produce strategic large group experiences that are relevant and engaging for students and provide high energy, and sought after activity for engagement;
  • Face of large group.

Elevate Community – Support the recruitment of volunteers to lead students in weekly large group:

  • Support and implement a system to recruit and train large group leaders;
  • Manage large group structure to connect students relationally with peers and leaders;
  • Leverage digital strategies to enhance relationships.

Engage Every Parent – Engage every parent and guardian to partner in discipling their students:

Together with ministry partner:

  • Design strategic opportunities to help every parent stay connected;
  • Provide resources and experiences that help parents win with their students;
  • Leverage digital strategies to keep parents inspired and informed.

Influence Service – Influence students to love and serve each other and the world:

Together with ministry partner:

  • Create opportunities to engage students in ministry and service opportunities;
  • Train students to co-lead with adults;
  • Establish seasonal initiatives for students or families to do service projects together.

  • Excited about connecting with students in the schools
  • Music and tech experience or knowledge a plus
  • Student event planning experience a plus
  • Prior experience in student ministry or para-church activities, such as Young Life, YFC, etc a plus
  • Related degree [preferred]
  • 3-5 Years of ministry experience. [preferred]

Position Type:

  • Pastor (non-ordained) -Full-time preferred
  • Salary Range: $48,000-$55,000
  • Benefits: Health insurance, 403b retirement, paid time off, flexible schedule, disability insurance
  • Physical/onsite requirements:
    • Ability to lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.
    • Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed
