To Timothy

What does it mean to fight the good fight of the faith? What does it look like to live out the Christian faith in a world that is growing increasingly  hostile to the gospel, seemingly by the day? What happens when the church struggles to remain faithful to the heart of the gospel? Thankfully, all these questions and more are answered by the Apostle Paul in two personal letters he wrote to a young pastor named Timothy. Timothy lived and led his church through turbulent times. He pastored in the midst of a pagan culture. He faced threats and persecution both internally and externally. He dealt with all kinds of     political and social and economic challenges. Perhaps most of all, he had to manage his own anxiety and fear and temptation to sin. Thankfully, like his spiritual mentor, Timothy appears to have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. What about us? Will we do the same? Is there a crown of righteousness awaiting us when we stand before the Lord? Make sure to invite your family and friends to join us this winter as we dive deep into 1st and 2nd Timothy and learn what it means to take hold of the eternal life to which we were called!
