Middle School Mission Trip 2019

Partnering with Open Door Ministries in Denver, CO

Middle School students (current 6th through outgoing 8th grade) and leaders have the opportunity to serve with Open Door Ministries by participating in their outreach program called URBAN IMMERSION, located in Denver, July 5-7th. Students will not only serve by meeting the physical needs of our brothers and sisters, but they will also gain a keen awareness of the culture through the hands-on learning and training provided by ODM. The deadline to register is June 19th. Cost: $180 per person. Email megan@pepc.org for information packet.

Two Required Meetings: 
Parents and Participants Meeting-June 26th from 7:45 to 8:30 pm after youth group in Student Center.

Training for all participants- June 30th from 12 noon to 1:15 pm in Student Center.

Middle School Impact Camp  July 24-27th

Elitches, Reservoir Day and Water World, oh my! Each day we will adventure out on a fun excursion filled with fun, friends and adventure.  Our evenings will be spent camping on the Hill at PEPC enjoying incredible worship by the fireside while being challenged by our speaker as they share the Word of God. What an IMPACTful camp this will be as we finish the summer on a high note before heading back to school.  Cost: $160 per person (scholarships available)

Middle School Youth Group:

Our After School Program is on Wednesdays from 3:15-5:30pm, in the Student Center @ PEPC during the school year.
PEPC Student Ministries desires to provide a safe place for Middle School Students to hang out with friends, join a small group, or do homework right right after school. Pick-up from Fika near Cimarron and Sierra is currently available and we provide a snack each week.

Youth Group is on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30pm in the Student Center throughout the year.
Designed to follow our After School Program during the school year, Youth Group is an exciting and energetic place for your student(s) to spend quality time with friends and engaged leaders, participate in musical worship, and learn in a dynamic teaching environment. We provide relevant and biblical teaching, as well as many opportunities to get involved! PEPC MS Youth Group is a welcoming environment and students are invited to invite their friends, no matter their faith background!

Middle School Small Groups :

The idea behind Small Groups is to get students engaged into authentic and relevant community.

MONDAYS: 3:30-5:00pm Girls Small Group during the school year *Pick up provided at PCK (3 pm) and at Fika (near Cimarron at 3:15 pm). This group meets off-site. Email Megan below for the address.

TUESDAYS: 3:30-5:00pm Guys Small Group during the school year *Group meets at Swirls on Mainstreet with Doug Resler and other Student Ministry staff. Please send your student(s) with $5-7 to cover frozen yogurt.

SUNDAYS: 9:00 – 10:00am Co-Ed Small Group meets in the Student Center every Sunday but the 1st week of the month.

WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?

THAT’S A GREAT QUESTION! OFTEN TIMES, ADULTS ARE OVERWHELMED WITH THE THOUGHT OF BEING AROUND MIDDLE OR HIGH SCHOOLERS FOR THREE HOURS. WE TOTALLY GET THAT! HERE’S THE DEAL THOUGH; WE HAVE SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES THAT WE ASK YOU TO LIVE INTO THAT MAKE IT SEEM LIKE CAKE. BY YOU OWNING THESE VARIOUS ROLES THROUGHOUT THE EVENING, IT HELPS THE NIGHT FLOW WELL, AND DIVIDES THE RESPONSIBILITIES TO MAKE CONNECTING WITH STUDENTS VERY ORGANIC AND SIMPLE! BELOW IS A LIST OF OUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (KEEP IN MIND WE ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO NEW IDEAS OR ROLES THAT YOU FEEL LIKE YOU COULD BRING TO THE TABLE):

Snack Shack

These leaders will be responsible for selling candy during youth group. They also are responsible for making sure to grab the cash register before youth group, and return the cash register after youth group. They will also keep students out of the Student Center Kitchen AT ALL TIMES!

Wassup! Team

These leaders will be at the door while students arrive to greet, guide, and direct them to our check in team.  Also, in many ways, they are the face of PEPC Student Ministries to new students who may be attending for the first time! Often times, a simple “Wassup!” can make a kid feel welcomed and want to return again!

Band Wagoneer’s

These leaders will be responsible for everything BAND. They are responsible for helping with set-up as well as break down of the stage each and every night. Also, often times these leaders will be called upon to own various tasks in the sound booth (cue music, message slides, etc.).

Gamers

These leaders will help setup and take down both the big, as well as the upfront games.  They may also be asked to run a game on their own!

PEPC Homeland Security

These leaders will make sure that students are not going places they shouldn’t be. Such as up and down hallways, going up and down the stairs, or going around the outside of the Church building throughout the night.  During the message time they will need to be sitting near the exit to ensure that kids are not sneaking out.

Wax on Wax off!

These leaders will be in charge of cleaning up the Student Center, Student Center Lobby, and Student Center Kitchen after students have been released and picked up.

Highway Patrol

These leaders will be responsible for getting all the students moving in the directions they need to be when we move from one room to another.  For example, when we move from the Student Center Lobby to the Student Center, they will rally the students and encourage them to get where they need to be. They will also help the staff get the students quiet and ready to listen to whoever is giving directions.

Hide Yo Kids

These leaders are designated to help staff members in case of emergencies. It is preferred, but not required, that these leaders are CPR certified (we can pay for your training if interested).

Leadership is from 5:15-8:15 every Wednesday night for MS and 5:45-8:15pm every Sunday night for HS.  Plan on being here during that time.
