Mom's Day OutPreschoolJr. KindergartenTransitional Kindergarten
Mom’s Day Out is for children starting as early as 6 weeks old to 3 years old.
Children can come one or more days a week.

We have a structured day with many activities to help children learn appropriate interactions with other children in a group setting. We encourage children to make good choices by helping to establish trust, develop confidence and help them cultivate self control. Depending on the child’s developmental level we introduce letters, numbers and number meaning, colors, shapes, mathematical thinking, science inquiry, and cultural concepts in a variety of ways so that learning is fun and experiential.

Infant - 6 weeks to 1 Year old

In the infant program we work closely with the parents to maintain the same schedule that the child is on at home. We strive to maintain lower than normal ratios in order to help establish trust between the child and teacher by embracing each child’s physical and emotional needs. By the time they are 1 we are encouraging children to be walking, using a sippy cup, eating at the table with other students, and transitioning to only an afternoon nap.  We understand that this transition is a milestone for students and we strive to help parents during this transition.

Early Toddler - 1 to 2 years old

In the Early Toddler program children are beginning to explore on their own terms. What a fun age! When a toddler is one and two years old, they discover new abilities. They are walking and exploring how to play with other children. At PEPC ELC it is our goal to encourage toddlers in their play and patiently allow them to try new things in order to develop confidence. We begin to introduce a structured school day for the children at this age so they spend time in outdoor play, circle time, art activities, music activities, and more throughout the day.

Toddler - 2 to 3 years old

In the Toddler program children are learning about their own abilities. It is so important that at this stage in a child’s development that we, educators and parents, work together to help the children develop confidence. They should feel empowered in their abilities and encouraged to continue to try new things. At PEPC ELC we begin introducing fine motor skills, gross motor skills, as well as social and emotional skills so that children are equipped as they head into a more formal school setting.

Early Preschool - 2.5 years old

The Early Preschool Program at PEPC ELC is unique. It is specifically designed for children who miss the Douglas County cut off for Preschool (October 1st). We begin the school year using our High Scope curriculum and transition into using the Core Knowledge Preschool curriculum as we understand that most of the students who have birth days after October 1st but before the end of December are developmentally ready to be challenged and we want to be sure we are meeting them where they are at.

Junior Kindergarten classes are for children 4 and 5 years old.

Our Junior Kindergarten Program prepares children spiritually, academically and socially for a smooth transition into Kindergarten. The Junior Kindergarten Classes at PEPC Early Learning Center use the Core Knowledge Curriculum, Saxon Math and Handwriting Without Tears. We also utilize the ACSI Bible Curriculum that has been slightly altered to specifically follow along and enhance the Core Knowledge Curriculum domain topics.

Our goals for your child while enrolled in Junior Kindergarten are:
That they learn the love of Jesus, writing the letters A-Z (capital and lowercase), writing the numbers 1-10, knowing the calendar (names of days and months), weather identification, perception and developing observation skills, understanding opposites, sequence comprehension (patterns and relationships), character education (positive values and attitude development), and health (body awareness).

PEPC Early Learning Center will be offering an exciting new class called Transitional Kindergarten. This class will serve as an alternative class for children who are 5 years old by December 31.

Transitional Kindergarten is designed for children who have completed Junior Kindergarten, or whose birth dates are after the kindergarten cut-off. This program prepares your child to meet the kindergarten expectations set forth in the Common Core State Standards, but with increased expectations of student performance, additional levels of academic rigor and enrichment opportunities to create higher levels of cognitive reasoning and understanding.

Transitional Kindergarten bridges the gap between Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten and will give your student the head start they need that will yield huge academic results.
