We also provide an extended day option with our Before and After Care Enrichment Programs. We would love to partner with you in this educational endeavor that is centered on God’s word.

Our Story

PEPC Early Learning Center was started in 2002 by a group of parents who wanted a four-hour educational, safe, and fun Christian experience for their children. The program was originally called Mom’s Day Out and began with 2 classrooms of learning, happy children. Within a couple of years a Preschool was added. Pre-K met on Monday-Wednesday-Friday and Preschool met on Tuesday-Thursday. Parents continue to love our four-hour program for many reasons. We make your child and family our number one priority. Dr. SeussCurrently PEPC Early Learning Center has 10 plus classes catering to children with a variety ages and schedules. Our Early Learning Center continually adjusts our curriculum to best meet the needs of the children through our on-going training and education. We strive for each child to be known, loved and celebrated. Our goal is to provide a loving, happy place for young children to learn and grow as we bridge the gap from home to school, in a Christian-based environment. We use a variety of different influences including Core Knowledge, CKLA, Highscope, and Abeka Bible to design our hands on curriculum and align it with Colorado’s learning benchmarks. Our staff supports a positive self-image and independence in each child while building social skills in a scholastic setting.

Safety

What safety measures are taken to keep children safe?
We know that we have your most precious gift and take that very seriously. We have two teachers in each classroom. We allow anyone to bring in children, but only those we have written permission and a valid photo id are allowed to pick them up. Visitors need to sign in with the Director and are escorted in the building. We lock the main doors after drop off time and parents ring the door bell to gain access to the building until pick up time. All staff members are CPR, First Aid and Universal Precautions trained. Teachers inspect the room and toys for safety daily and remove/replace any safety issues.
Are children of different ages grouped together?
No. For the safety and comfort of your child, we group children according to their approximate age. This way we can guarantee age-appropriate activities and play.
How often do you clean the rooms and toys?
We clean every toy weekly. If a toy is in a child’s mouth, it is cleaned before another child uses it. We clean the rooms throughout the day and thoroughly every night. When changing diapers the changing tables are disinfected after each child.
What if someone other than my spouse/partner or me has to pick up my child?
In order to protect your child, we require that you provide the names of any individual who has permission to pick up your child. We require advanced written or text notice from you when someone other than a family member will be picking up your child and will check identification. If we have any questions or concerns, we ask that you are available via cell phone to provide confirmation.
What is your policy regarding sick children?
In order to keep our children, their families, and our staff, as healthy as possible, we require that any child with a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious disease be kept home 24 hours after the symptoms have gone. The staff follows the same policy.

Staff

What is your child-to-teacher ratio?
We maintain two teachers in every classroom for the children’s safety. In our youngest Mom’s Day Out class our ratio is 7 children–2 teachers. In Preschool the ratio is 14 children-2 teachers, and in Pre-K/Jr.K the ratio is 18 children-2 teachers.
All rooms maintaining a lower ratio than the state requires.
What is your staff turnover rate?
Our turnover rate is lower than the average school because we create a positive environment not only for your children, but also for our staff.
How many staff members are CPR and First Aid certified?
We require that every member of our staff maintain a current certification in both CPR and First Aid.Our standard exceeds the state requirement.

Parents

Do you welcome parent involvement? Can I stop by unannounced?
The answer to both is a resounding, “YES!” You will need to ring the door bell to enter the school, but you are always welcome. Our school is a community that embraces the whole family. We host events throughout the year, including Thanksgiving feasts, Mom’s and Muffins, Dad’s and Donuts and performances in our sanctuary just to name a few. We encourage families to be involved.
How do you communicate with parents?
When you drop off or pick up you are welcome to bring up quickly communicated issues and you are always welcome to schedule longer conversations as needed. We have formal Parent-Teacher conferences twice a year. Monthly class and school newsletters are emailed to the addresses you provide. Our computerized check-in system notifies you of immediate announcements daily. We want to partner with you so communication is important.
Do you offer financial assistance or scholarships?
We have a limited budget set aside for financial assistance and scholarships awarded on needs basis. Please see the director for the scholarship application after you have submitted your paperwork and fees. The Scholarship Team meets monthly as needed to review applications and available funding.

Curriculum

What makes PEPC Early Learning Center so special?
PEPC Early Learning Center makes your children and family our number one priority. We want you to feel welcome and secure in leaving your children with us. We want your child to feel happy and confident because we know children learn best when their needs are met. We use a variety of materials and teaching techniques so that we can reach each child’s learning style. We make learning fun and hands on for children 15 months to 6 years old.
How will PEPC Early Learning Center educate my child and prepare him/her for kindergarten?
From the moment you enroll your child we take into consideration their developmental needs and cater our educational goals accordingly. For example in Mom’s Day Out our goal is to have the children recognize the first letter of their name and say the alphabet. In the Preschool classrooms we teach the letters from the easiest to hardest, to write at the pace of their developing hand muscles, and to recognize most letters and know the phonetic sounds. In the Pre-K and Jr.K classes we use the letters to build words and encourage reading. We follow this same detail and plan for all subjects. We show the love of Jesus through a balance of education, play, and social interaction. If you would like a copy of our Scope and Sequence please email the Director.
Is PEPC Early Learning Center licensed?
PEPC Early Learning Center is licensed with the State of Colorado Division of Early Care and Learning.

In many cases, our own standards exceed the states requirements and standards!

What is your educational philosophy?
Our goal is to provide a loving, happy place for young children. Our grow children who are “Educated through Biblically integrated curriculum, Confident by knowing God made them, and Caring through the love of Jesus.” We want them to feel the security of bridging the gap from home to school, in a Christian-based environment. We borrow from a variety of different influences including Montessori, Core Knowledge, Creative Curriculum, and Scholastic to design our curriculum. Our staff supports a positive self-image in each child while building social skills in a scholastic setting.
